8. Star-Trek Discovery (Netflix)

As someone who refuses to watch the other Star Trek movies due to outdated CGI, I found refuge in this tv show. As I have not watched previous Star Trek shows or films, I found ST-Discovery very entertaining. Our favourite thing about it is that it does not have the “we save the day at the end of each episode” kind of vibe. The show starts off slow but give it a few episodes and you will be reeled in.

9. Billions (ShowTime)

Billions follows a battle between Hedge Fund Manager, Bobby Axelrod and a cut-throat US attorney Chuck Rhoades. Season 5 went on a production break due to the pandemic but is set to resume on January 2022. LJ and I have our calendars set for the complete release of Season 5. We absolutely love the dialogue between Axelrod and Chuck. Gets us, every time.

A lovely and light hearted feel good show. While our plan was to watch an episode a day, we binged the entire show in 3 days. The show follows a Korean-Canadian family that runs a convenience store in Toronto, Canada. The show perfectly captures their day to day lives. This show is witty, funny and 100% relatable. The best part – a whole 5 seasons!
